February 21, 2003:  Today we follow Bay Colony GP-8 No. 1701 on the afternoon trash train.  We begin at West Barnstable, and follow them to Monument Beach, Bourne.  The first car of the Yarmouth string is a flat car with four loaded containers, transporting sludge.  The second car is a hopper from Gallo construction in Sagamore, loaded with flyash from the Canal Electric plant.  The morning train switched out Gallo's on their way to Yarmouth, and brought the load with them.  Both of these cars will now find their way to Middleboro, where they will be interchanged with CSX.
